Is there a space for filmmakers in the world of video games? Well, the Video Games Group tutor proves that it’s a fact!
This year’s Film Spring Open will again feature workshops for gaming fans. This year’s tutor of the Computer Games Group will be Maciej Kunach from Bloober Team, who started his adventure with games as a participant of the Film Spring Open.
This is how he chalks out the group work plan:
The group will be guided through the abbreviated production flow of a computer game. From the initial concept, through motion capture sessions, the creation and programming of mechanics, to the creation of cinematic interludes, customisation of the virtual set design, lighting and the many other components that make up the game. Each participant will choose for themselves which elements of production they would like to focus on.
The projects will be created using the Unreal Engine 5 engine, a professional and free tool allowing the creation of productions of the highest quality. The motion capture session will be carried out in a professional studio belonging to Bloober Team.
Maciej Kunach: Cutscene Designer at Bloober Team. He worked on the camerawork and editing in the game “The Medium”, a narrative psychological horror film inspired by the works of Zdzisław Beksiński. Previously, a filmmaker and documentalist associated with the Bydgoszcz Film Chronicle and the Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing. Member of the jury of the Warsaw Animation Film Festival.
