Second edition of the Film Spring Open Hackathon for Wawel will be part of the 17th Workshop, an innovative educational laboratory, during which new artistic ideas based on technological innovations are born. This is also the premise of the Hackathon. We want to stimulate and support the content-related and technical aspects of interactive projects created by young artists.

We aim to integrate filmmakers, programmers and game developers (regardless of gender). It can be attended by: IT specialists, computer graphic designers, VR and AR specialists, producers, sound engineers, but also actors, directors, cinematographers, game designers, specialists in motion capture, virtual studio, visual effects and animation, creators, i.e. representatives of professions, which have an impact on the development of the audiovisual industry. Such collaboration defines the future of the creative disciplines.
Participants, under the supervision of outstanding specialists, will work on films, applications, games or other multimedia AV projects that will enable the reception of Wawel’s treasures on a new, interactive level.

Wawel will provide Hackathon’s partakers with access to its spaces and collections. The hardware, editing and content base will be located in Krakow’s Przegorzały, where the Film Spring Open Workshop is held.
Hackathon participants will be able to explore new solutions using professional AV equipment. The winners will receive the Lenovo Tab P12 Pro tablet funded by Lenovo Poland and the RTX 3080 graphics card funded by the National Film Archive – Audiovisual Institute.Additionally, the best project selected by the Wawel Castle Management will have a chance for commercial implementation.Its authors will receive a voucher for an overnight stay at Wawel.
We want to support young talents in their artistic development and provide them with tools and substantive knowledge to help them release layers of creativity. We believe that initiatives such as Hackaton are very much needed now, so it was a completely natural decision for us to take patronage over it
