Subscribe to the next team of 18 Film Spring Open Workshop. This time it’s the CGI and Modern Editing Group. It will be tutored by Kamil Polak, an animation director, special effects supervisor and cinematographer of “The Peasants”.
At these CGI workshops the art of compositions of film shots will meet the power of artificial intelligence.
What will the group members do?
“You will learn the secrets of generating computer graphics, creating visual effects and modeling three-dimensional characters and objects.
You will learn how to effectively combine a variety of film shots to create a cohesive and dynamic narrative.
You’ll discover how to use AI-powered tools to speed up your special effects and animation processes.
You will learn what are the latest trends in the field of CGI and what technologies are changing the film industry right now.
Through practical exercises, you will be able to apply the acquired knowledge in practice, creating your own visual effects,”
says Kamil Polak.
Kamil Polak: animation director and supervisor of special effects. He studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts at the Faculty of Painting and at the Animation Department of the Film School in Łódź. Director of the animated short film “Świteź” (2010), which won over 20 international awards. Supervisor of postproduction in the puppet animation “Piotruś i Wilk”, which in 2008 won the Oscar award. Cinematography and special effects author for “The Peasants” by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman.
Director of many advertising projects combining animation and acting plan including the series “Heart and Mind” and “Plush”. Since 2003, he has been collaborating with Krzysztof Warlikowski, creating animations for his theatrical and operatic works.
