Film Spring Open-Air started on the 30th of October in the amazing venue located on the Vistula river bank in Krakow. 300 hundred young filmmakers from Poland and abroad came to learn together from the top European tutors, lecturers and artists.
The special guest of this edition is Juliette Binoche. Her visit coincides with the celebration of the Year of Krzysztod Kieślowski whose “Blue “ proved to be a turning point for her career and brought her a Cesar Award. There was a special screening of “Blue” during the first day of Film Spring Open-Air and her cooperation with Kieslowski on this film was one of the main topics during the Q&A session at the workshop venue. The host of the meeting was Malgośka Szumowska, who directed and co-wrote a 2011 film “Elles” with Juliette as the main character Anne. During a Q&A Juliette answered questions from Malgośka and the workshop’s participants.
Ms. Binoche also took part in the press conference presenting this year’s programme of Film Spring Open-Air. Along her in the foyer of the Congress Centre ICE in Krakow sat also Slawomir Idziak – creator of the Film Spring Open-Air, Andrzej Kulig – Deputy Mayor of the City of Krakow for Social Policy, Culture and Promotion, Malgorzata Szumowska – director, lecturer at FSO, Tomasz Wasilewski – director , lecturer at FSO and Jacob Marczyński of Noble Parcel, a charity initiative cooperating with FSO for the second year in a row. At the conference there were also Izabela Helbin, Director of the Krakow Festival Office and Marta Mamon -Producer of Open-Air. The conference was hosted by Magdalena Goszczyńska, a spokesperson for the Open-Air.
