Kaja Wesołek-Podziemska
IPA (Intimacy Professional Association) certified intimate scene coordinator. Two passions led her to this profession. The first is a passion for dance and acting. As a child, Kaja performed in contemporary dance theatre, and as a student she acted in the National Theatre in Warsaw in the play ‘Cinderella’, directed by Will Pomerantz. Her second passion is psychology, which, after studying at the University of Warsaw, she deepened at a therapy school in the cognitive-behavioural current. In the film industry, she started her career by coaching child actors, in particular helping them play emotionally difficult scenes. Kaja became the coordinator of intimate scenes in the series Sexify, which was the first in Poland to have such a formal requirement. In the future, she wants intimate scenes to be performed with respect for each party and to become part of the creative process.
Marta A. Zygadło
Intimate scenes coordinator during Safe Sets certification. Previously – actress and second director in several dozen Polish and international film productions. She has learnt the specifics of shooting intimate scenes by working on both sides of the camera. Drawing on more than 20 years of experience in interpreting scripts, she is interested in and developing methods of professional communication related to the creation of intimate scenes throughout the production process, from the script to the realisation on set. Her goal is to provide the conditions for artists to safely and creatively perform scenes related to sexuality and nudity. To her credit as an actress, she has realised intimate scenes in film and theatre.
They have developed and run workshops on intimate scene coordination for students of acting, directing, male and female lecturers and ensembles of selected theatres in Poland, as part of the project ‘Safe Space. Good practices and tools for the transformation of theatre education’ at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz Theatre Academy in Warsaw.
