Body painting and make-up course online (registration open)

What will you learn during the online audiovisual course?

We will show you how to do theatrical ageing and how to make wax for make-up.

We will also cover:

Discussing special effects products – we will show how to use them practically and how to wash them off;
We will show how to create special effects – burns, convex and concave wounds, scars, cuts, scrapes and abrasions, how to do eyebrow blocking;
How to create a Zombie character;
Together we will create simple make-ups – optical illusions. We will show how to paint, a bruise, a wound, a scar – to make it three-dimensional;
First of all, we will share our experience of how to make simple make-up design without having the financial means to do so, e.g. how to create fake blood.

During the workshop we will combine theory and practice to share knowledge for beginners. You will learn the principles of the work and then we will move on to practical tasks. During the workshop we would like participants to be able to work together with us. We will also talk about body painting and what use it has in film and make-up design. We will show how to work with a brush and sponge and how to create simple and effective body paintings. – said Marian Folga.

Materials that will be needed for the first class:

At the first meeting we will present our workflow. We will prepare simple make-ups live and tell you what you need to prepare in the next steps.

Marian Folga is a Polish artist specializing in bodypainting, the art of painting on the human body. His work is distinguished by precision and creativity, combining elements of painting, fashion, and performance art. Folga is one of the most recognized artists in Poland in this field.

He is a multiple winner of both Polish and international bodypainting championships, and a two-time world champion in 2023 and 2024 at the World Bodypainting Festival in the UV category.He is also the founder and artistic director of the Dyemotion dance theatre, where he merges bodypainting techniques with UV light.

Folga’s technique and approach to bodypainting stand out among other artists. He often creates complex and highly detailed compositions that fully utilize the natural shapes of the human body as a canvas for his creativity. His works can be seen as a form of visual art that bridges painting, sculpture, and fashion.

He has presented his art at international festivals and collaborated with other artists and filmmakers.

Marian Folga’s bodypainting is often featured in photo sessions, performances, and artistic projects aimed at bringing art closer to audiences in innovative ways.

He is also the author of many works that have gained recognition within the art community and among fans of this niche but highly impactful art form. Additionally, he teaches bodypainting, stage makeup, acrobatics, drawing, and dance theatre.

Wiktoria Wędzicha – 21-year-old make-up artist. She has won bodypainting championships in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ireland. Third in the world in facepainting at the World Bodypainting Festival in Austria in 2022. Make-up artist at Dyemotion dance theatre and the Entertainment Theatre.
