FLASH MOB 2025

The idea is to pay tribute to 20 years of Film Spring Open and show that every year, filmmakers come here and create wonderful things, with an amazing energy that makes everyone happy. The spirit is that the Flash Mob should be a source of joy and tell our story, that of the participants, their projects, and their hopes. And above all, it should be a lot of fun !!!

The initial idea for the script to be developed together and the music that will be used are available after the short summary or directly accessible via the tabs in the document 🙂

The short summary and organization of the flash mob could be:

1 –    Outside the Flash Mob Part 1:  the interactive group (and anyone else who wants to) can create scenes related to the history of cinema using Artificial Intelligence. 

2 –    Outside Flash Mob Part 2: Each group could shoot a few shots to present the group (illustrating their activity) when the group is able to (requires 20 seconds of shooting preparation per group (setting up lights, cameras, makeup, etc.) + 20 seconds of the group illustrating their main activity). This could also be a making-of video of the group. Ideally, shoot in slow motion in 4K (at least 50p). If it is not possible to shoot, contact us and our group will come and shoot the footage during one of your shoots. 

3 –      The Flash Mob Part 1: Saturday at 2:30 p.m.   

Each group can organize a “mock filming” in and around the hotel in the location of their choice (rooms, corridors, conference room, restaurant, lounge, children’s playroom, hammam, forest, castle, etc.). From this starting point, they leave with their equipment and head to the cinebus (or another location to be determined) where a concert can resume the music from the Flash Mob (perhaps with the band?). A big party begins, ending with a shot flying up into the sky where the phrase “Happy 20 years, Film Spring Open” appears formed by clouds in a heart shape. 

4-        Flash Mob Part 2: Saturday at 7 p.m.

Night falls and the camera descends through the clouds towards the same place, where everyone continues to party. Everyone can bring food and drink, and their best costumes, and we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Film Spring Open at the same time. The Flash Mob will end with fireworks (created using AI) spelling out Film Spring Open Forever in the sky. 

Groups can play with different colored lights, LED tubes (which can be used as lightsabers, for example), magic candles, balloons, filters (kaleidoscope, stars, double moon, halo, anamorphic, etc.), smoke machines, and colored smoke to create visual effects. Be careful not to make a mess (no paint, colored powder, or confetti; this is important for maintaining a good relationship with the hotel staff ^^) 

The more people filming with cameras and drones, the better. For those who wish to film, here are the ideal settings we would like to use for the rushes:

4k 4.2.2 10 bits (or less if not possible)

Slow motion (100 frames per second or less if not possible)

The flattest profile possible (a Log curve would be ideal)

If you can’t do all of this, do what comes closest.

You can also film with cell phones, webcams, GoPro, VR cameras, etc.

SCRIPT IDEA

1 – Outside Flash Mob Part 1

Master Balesta meditates in the forest. 

A dinosaur roar wakes him up. 

He doesn’t seem particularly surprised, as Master Ballesta remains in control of his emotions in any situation. Through his gaze, however, we sense a slight questioning of the strangeness of the situation. 

He walks through the forest and in the background we can see dinosaurs against a musical theme reminiscent of Jurassic Park. 

He leaves the forest and walks towards the hotel, passing an ancient pool filled with water where a shark fin appears after he passes, accompanied by a theme reminiscent of Jaws. 

He arrives in the hotel courtyard, which is completely deserted. Close-up of him looking right and left, in the style of a western. A ball of straw rolls across the courtyard to a musical theme reminiscent of Sergio Leone. 

He enters the hotel, which is completely empty. At the end of a corridor, he sees a young child on a tricycle to a musical theme reminiscent of The Shining. 

One of the doors in the hallway opens, and light pours out. Maître Ballesta enters the room and finds himself in a room that transforms into a spaceship cabin. A countdown begins, and the room shakes. 3, 2, 1. A rocket takes off, propelling Master Ballesta into space to a musical theme reminiscent of Gattaca. 

At the castle, Laurent, dressed as Harry Potter, watches the rocket fly into the sky. 

We hear a director addressing him. 

Harry, we’re rolling!

He arrives on set to a musical theme reminiscent of Harry Potter. A clapperboard is set up, we wait for sound, rolling, camera, rolling, clap scene 1 take 1 and action. A song about Film Spring Open, specially created for its 20th anniversary, begins. 

All the groups who wish to do so can be found shooting scenes in different parts of Film Spring Open. These scenes may recall the history of cinema (connections between groups can be made using drone shots).

2 – Outside Flash Mob Part 2 

Each group could shoot a few shots to introduce the group (illustrating their activity) when the group is able to (requires 20 seconds of shooting preparation per group (setting up lights, cameras, makeup, etc.) + 20 seconds of footage of the group illustrating their main activity).

This could also be a making-of video about the group. Ideally, it should be filmed in slow motion in 4K (at least 50p). If filming is not possible, please contact us and our group will come and film during one of your shoots.
