During this course, we will see the basics of shooting with explanations of the rules of image composition and the presentation of the different equipment on the market (camera, sensors, formats, lenses, etc.). We will also see the different settings to know to ensure the best shot and some technical and ecological advice, for low budget productions.

The course will last between 3 and 4 hours, depending on the questions and the number of participants.

Tutor

Florent Pallares – filmmaker, lecturer and trainer, Florent Pallares has been a member of Film Spring Open since 2008 and holds a PhD in Film and Audiovisual Studies. He created in 2013, Film Spring Open France, which offers audiovisual training in France but also in Mexico.

He is co-founder and responsible for the practical audiovisual training of the BTS option “Image Professions” of the high school « Pablo Picasso » and the professional license “Information Professions: journalism and press professions” course “Photojournalism, digital media and audiovisual images” of the University of Perpignan, in the south of France.

He is president of FRAME (Federation of Research on Audiovisual, Media and Ecology) and is the artistic director of Red Eyes Cool, an international group of filmmakers that manages the Let’s change the world project. He is also the director of two festivals: The Encounters Short Film Festival « Image In Cabestany » and « Les étoiles du court-métrage » (« The short Film Stars »).

He has been a lecturer on the « Lycéens et Apprentis au Cinéma » (« Students and apprentices at the cinema») program of the CNC (French National Center for Cinema) and has supervised for the « Institut Jean Vigo »( Jean Vigo Institute), the « Passeurs d’images » (« Passengers of Images ») project of the CNC and the « Cinéma 100 ans de jeunesse » (« Cinema 100 years of youth ») project of the Cinémathèque Française (French Cinematheque).
