We invite you to join the Piotr Woźniak-Starak Modern Film Production Group, dedicated to young producers and film production students, organized as part of Film Spring Open 2025!

This year, the group’s mentor will be Magdalena Kamińska (Balapolis).

The patron of the Modern Film Production Group is Piotr Woźniak-Starak, a pioneer of the modern production model in Poland and Europe, in which the creative producer is involved at every stage of the filmmaking process. The group’s partner is the Starak Family Foundation, which is also the honorary patron of the Imagine competition.

    Where to find funding for films and series, how to prepare a production package.

    How to read and analyze a script in terms of production feasibility (breakdown).

    What happens at each stage of creating a film or series – from script to post-production.

    How to prepare an application step by step.

Group tutor

Magdalena Kamińska – film producer and co-founder of Balapolis, together with Agata Szymańska.
She produces films and TV series, passionately developing them from the very first idea to their premiere. She has participated in prestigious workshops, including EAVE Producers, and in 2015 she was a finalist of the Biennale College-Cinema program. She was recognized by KIPA for creative courage at the OFF Camera Festival for the film Baby Bump, directed by Kuba Czekaj, which won the Queer Lion Award at the Venice International Film Festival. Her film Werewolf, directed by Adrian Panek, was a Polish-German-Dutch co-production and received awards for Best Director and Best Score at the Gdynia Polish Film Festival, as well as the Ecumenical Jury Award and the Audience Award at the POFF Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn. The documentary The Hamlet Syndrome, directed by Elwira Niewiera and Piotr Rosołowski, won the Grand Prix of the Semaine de la Critique section in Locarno and the Golden Lajkonik at the 62nd Krakow Film Festival.

Her latest productions include White Courage directed by Marcin Koszałka, Simona Kossak directed by Adrian Panek, the Canal+ series Black Daisies, and Aniela – a Netflix series that premiered in June 2025.
