We are changing the traditional education pattern! We invite you to cinematography groups, in which you will participate in preparatory work for projects of our mentors. Let’s start with classes with Marcin Koszałka, DOP and film director! Let’s shoot “Festung Krakau” with him!
Members of the cinematography group under his supervision – Help!!! How do I make my video? – will participate not in school exercises, but in real activities on the set: preparing moodboards, storyboards, cinematographic tests or shooting a scene. They will be able to see the effects of this search for visual language in the future “Festung Krakau”.
As Marcina Koszałka writes:
At the beginning of cinema there was a negative. Digital technology, which is constantly developing, seeks to replace the negative, but the negative is still alive. Many filmmakers make movies on photosensitive film (e.g. Christopher Nolan or Steven Spielberg). Returning to the sources can be inspiring. The high costs of the film build respect: before pressing the camera shutter, the creator must think for a long time, and this creates precision and shapes visual sensitivity.
During the workshops, participants will use two cameras: digital and analog Super 16 mm.
We will be working on fragments of two of my new film projects that I am about to make. We will look for a visual style and decide on what notation the designs will be based on. The participant will find themselves at the same starting point as me as a creator. I don’t know yet what visual style to use and whether to choose an analog or digital camera. Our workshops should clarify this.
Feel free to join me!
