We are happy to invite you to attend the SFX Make-up Group, which will be led by visual artist, photographer and multiple winner of Polish and international championships in bodypainting – Marian Folga. The group will be actively working during the 19th Film Spring Open Workshops on 15-24.10.2024 in Krakow!

Marian Folga will introduce you to the world of visual effects, as well as the basics of professional SFX make-up!

Group work program:
We will show how to make theatrical ageing and how to prepare make-up wax.

What else?

• We will discuss special effects products – we will show how to use them practically and how to wash them off;
• We will show how to create special effects – burns, convex and concave wounds, scars, cuts, scratches and abrasions;
• How to create a Zombie character;
• Together we will create simple SFX make-ups – optical illusions. We will show how to paint: a bruise, a wound, a scar – to make it three-dimensional;
• We will share our experience on how to make simple low budget SFX make-ups, ie. how to create artificial blood, or effects, scenery elements from things we have at hand;
• You will be able to create your own simple SFX make-ups.

We will combine theory and practice to share our knowledge for beginners. You will learn the principles of work and move on to practical tasks. During the workshop we would like to work together with the participants, talk about bodypainting and what use it has in film and SFX make-up. We will show how to work with a brush and sponge and how to create simple and effective body paintings – says Marian Folga
