Arri Group at this year’s Film Spring Open Workshop. Together with the director Oliver Chopping and one of the best Polish DOP-s PIotr Sobociński prep the Film Look of the ‘ticking crocodiles’ movie to be prduce next year
At our workshops, we are not teaching rehashed ideas.
The Arri Group participants will have the unique opportunity to take part in the authentic process of preparing Olivier and Piotr’s new feature film, from the visual concept to cinematography rehearsals and colour grading.
We have done similar cinematographic prep session together with our participants and the filmmakers Magnus Von Horn and Michal Dymek for the film “The Girl with the Needle” produced by Mariusz Wlodarski, which was shown in the main selection of the Cannes Film Festival!
Piotr Sobociński received many prestigious awards such as the Polish Orły, the Golden Frog at EnergaCamerimage and the awards of the Polish Society of Cinematographers. He is the DOP for: “Scarborn”, “Operation Hyacinth”, “Wesele”, “I Nevery Cry”, “Corpus Cristi”, “Silent Night”, “Hatred”, “Bogowie”, “Traffic Department”, “The Closed Circuit”.Good news!

Piotr Sobociński is one of the most prominent cinematographers in Poland. He is a multiple winner of main Polish film awards, including the Golden Eagle Award (7 nominations, 6 wins) in the category Best Cinematography, Award of the Polish Society of Cinematographers (7 nominations, 3 wins) and Camerimage International Cinematography Festival (7 nominations, 2 wins). His works were honoured in many international festivals as well.
Piotr has got cinematography in his blood. He is the son of Piotr Sobocinski and the grandson of Witold Sobociński, who graduated from Cinematographers Department at the Film School in Lodz. Since 2007 he has been making feature films and commercials as a director of photography. He works with top advertisement agencies around the world: Havas, Ogilvy & Mather, Publicis, DDB, Leo Burnett.
Throughout his career up to date he has had the opportunity to cooperate with acclaimed Polish and foreign directors such as Jan Komasa, Wojciech Smarzowski, Łukasz Palkowski, Paweł Maślona, Piotr Domalewski, Sue Tully, Márta Mészáros and Ricky Rijnecke.
