Film Music Composers Group at the Film Spring Open Workshop 2024 with. Tutor – Paweł Lucewicz!!!

We are happy to invite directors, composers and editors to sign up for a unique workshop as part of the Film Music Composers Group, which will work during the Film Spring Open Workshop under the patronage of Society of Authors ZAIKS, led by the outstanding composer Paweł Lucewicz!
This is a unique opportunity to take a deep dive into the secrets of film music creation, both from the artistic and technical side.

Paweł Lucewicz emphasises:
“The workshop will provide an excellent opportunity to share the compositional experience in both the artistic and technical aspects of working on a film. I believe that touching on the creative process over illustrative music can be interesting and valuable for young, aspiring composers and directors alike.”

The workshop will be divided into two parts:

1. THEORETICAL:

  • For all creatives: You will learn how to communicate effectively about music, prepare briefs, build musical drama and work with directors and producers, editors.
  • For composers: You will discover advanced techniques for synchronising music with images, audio standards, spotting sessions, preparing recording sessions, working with virtual instruments and orchestration. This is essential knowledge for any aspiring film composer!

2. PRACTICAL:

Pawel Lucewicz said:
“The second element of the Group’s work will be the practical part – to the previously sent and selected film footage of the Film Spring Open Workshop Participants, we would work through the music composition with my support. I would like this whole part to reflect as much as possible the reality in which we work every day. It would be great to have material that gives the music a chance to be carried out dramatically – I think it should be 10-15 minute sequences or films is the minimum. We don’t have to limit ourselves to one piece of footage, although it’s very interesting to see the results when completely different music is made for the same material. I also put this up for further discussion. Depending on the number of participants – this part can be worked through individually or in groups of three.”

Participants are invited with the equipment they use every day – each with personalised software and a palette of virtual instruments.

Why is it worth signing up?

  • This is an excellent opportunity to make valuable contacts and potential future collaborations.
  • The opportunity to have your films soundtracked by talented composers.
  • You will gain knowledge and practical skills that will enhance the quality of your work.

We would like to invite you to register for the Workshop and sign up for the group, and send finished films – a minimum of 15 minutes or sequences that the Film Music Composition Group could work on to biuro@filmspringopen.eu. This will be a great opportunity to meet composers for future collaboration, and to soundtrack your films!

Don’t wait, sign up today!
